An emaciated ginger kittie walked in the house the other day asking for help. He was drooling badly, his nose and eyes were running. It broke my heart. I put some food for him so he doesn’t go away while i fetch a carrier and even though he wanted to eat, he seemed eager to eat but unable to close his mouth. I assumed he was hit by a car. I called our vets as it was closing time soon and they waited for us to arrive.

It isn’t this poor ruh’s fault he is a stray and that noone has cared for him, for what i can assume is weeks as he is so emaciated. I might have 30+ cats in my care and pending vet bills but I would not be a human being if I looked the other way and let him suffer a slow death. He came asking for help… His trust alone brings me comfort, as he is a feral boy i have tried to trap in the past for spaying.

X-rays show no broken jaw or bones. His testicles were infected with massive maggots, poor thing. He is FIV positive and his white blood cells are over the roof. Vets recommended we let him gain some strength before fully sedating him to remove his bad teeth and clean the rest. He spend 2 weeks in the clinic recovering, fattening up. He got his teeth done and got spayed. He is now back at the house. He doesn’t linger far and comes for tin food dinner. He allowed the vets to pet him but doesn’t let me yet as we don’t know eachother too well.

Never look away from an animal in need, it corrupts your soul. Above our love for animals there should be respect and no living being should be left to suffer in pain.
